Personal and professional papers of Frank Wheat, with particular emphasis on his political activism and philanthropy. The papers cover his effort for the California Desert Protection Act (CDPA); the work on his California Desert Miracle, The Fight for Desert Parks and Wilderness (1999), and other environmental issues, particularly including mining's effect on the environment; the Alliance for Children's Rights, the Center for Law in the Public Interest and Human Rights Watch and his involvement with Ralph M. Parsons Foundation. The collection also contains information on Wheat's legal career, including his presidency of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, his tenure as an SEC Commissioner, his expertise in securities and corporate law, and his involvement with the California Citizens Budget Commission and California Commission on Campaign Financing.

This collection contains the papers of naval architect, artist, and interior designer Jack Heaney primarily related to projects Heaney worked on in the mid 20th century at the New York City marine design and naval architectural firm of George G. Sharp Inc., and later at Jack Heaney and Associates. The bulk of the collection dates from the late 1930s to the 1960s and includes both professional and project records primarily reflecting Heaney's design work for cargo-passenger vessels, and some personal documents. The professional and project records in the collection includes design renderings and drawings of ship exteriors, interiors, furniture, and fixtures; photographs primarily of ship interiors; miscellaneous ephemera, often with graphic components by Heaney; publications and clippings profiling Heaney's work; and some miscellaneous correspondence. The largest section relates to the first nuclear cargo ship, the NS Savannah. Other ships and ship lines represented include the Robin Line, Delta Line, American President Lines, Great Lakes Ore Carriers, SS Aquarama, Gulf and South American Steamship, and the Farrell Lines. While most of the collection concerns Heaney's work, the Staten Island Ferries series also includes correspondence related to JoAnne Heaney's interior design work on the project in the late 1970s. The materials also include twelve of the first issues of Harmony in G. Sharp, the George G. Sharp firm's in-house magazine dating from the mid 1940s. The personal papers include three shipbuilding books and a notebook used by Heaney as a student; six pieces of student artwork dating from 1924 to 1926; and some additional postcards and pieces of ephemera.

The Fanchon & Marco collection contains approximately 1400 photographs depicting hundreds of Fanchon and Marco Inc. sets and performers between approximately 1925 and 1938. The collection also includes three boxes of ephemera, dated from around 1912 to 1940, that consist of newspapers clippings, musical scores, miscellaneous photographs, and the supplemental press books that were included with Fanchon & Marco's promotional magazine, Now (later The Idea), dating from 1930 and 1931. The 16 volumes (now disbound) of photographs in this collection served as a visual inventory for hundreds of Fanchon & Marco sets and performers. The images document the actors, dancers, costumes, sets, and concepts and appear to have been primarily photographed during rehearsals before the shows premiered in Los Angeles theaters such as Loew's State Theater and the Paramount Theater. The first volume contains some photographs presumably taken in San Francisco and later volumes include a few photographs by New York-based photographers. Photographers represented in the collection are: Archer's Art Shop of Los Angeles; Hollywood photographers Irving Archer; Archer's Studios; Curt Fox; Paralta Studios; and Harry Wenger. A few photographs include the imprints of Peerless Photo of Los Angeles, John Sirgio, H.W. Steward of San Francisco, Talbot of New York, Weaver of Los Angeles, and White Studio of New York.
