In this false paradise he is disappointed again, but learns of the purpose of the abduction--to lure him away--and makes his escape to continue the search. The strange, semi-medieval language which Morris creates is wonderfully evocative of the distant past, and this exotic and often comic story is one of his most fresh and colourful romances.
