In pursuance of the power to us given by an Act of Parliament, (entituled, An Act for appointing commissioners to enquire of the estates of certain traytors, and of popish recusants, and of estates given to superstitious uses, in order to raise money out of them severally for the use of the publick:) : we commissioners ... do command and require you forthwith, to make a true and exact list of the names of all and every person and persons, who do now stand convicted as popish recusants within your county, ... and that you do return the same to us under your hand and seal, at our office in Essex-street, London, on the [blank] day of December next. Given under our hands and seals the thirty first day of October, in the fourth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord King George, annoq[ue] Dom. 1717
