    Manuscripts

    The collection contains correspondence, manuscripts, notebooks, printed material, research notes and drawings, and photographs related to French chemist and microbiologist Louis Pasteur (1822-1895). The collection consists of the following: Box 1: Pasteur correspondence, manuscripts and printed material, 1823-1873. Box 2: Pasteur correspondence, manuscripts, photographs and printed material, 1874-1886. Box 3: Pasteur correspondence, manuscripts, photographs and printed material, 1887-Undated; 1970-2006. This box also includes the Alain Brieux Catalogue, lists of items purchased and Burndy Library exhibition material. Box 4: Enamel portrait and volumes, 1871-[before 1896]. The volumes include Pasteur's working notebooks and his address book. Box 5: Empty vin rouge bottle. This item is fragile and requires curatorial approval for paging.
