Two letterbooks with letters written to various people by Frank Johnston from New York City in 1853 to 1857. He discusses several types of business but the letters deal chiefly with the cotton trade. Johnston talks a lot about shipments of cotton and the prices.

This scrapbook/photo album is an assemblage of souvenirs compiled by four young North Dakota women who traveled by automobile across the United States in 1933, eventually reaching the Chicago World's Fair of that year (the "Century of Progress" Exposition). They passed through 32 of the 48 states and acquired souvenirs ranging from postcards, maps, and other ephemera items to samples of mineral and botanical materials. In the inside back cover is a newspaper clipping about the women's trip.
