Rare Books
Five scrapbooks begun by Richard Tattersall (1724-1795), c. 1770, and added to by his descendants until about 1851. In addition to the over 500 prints of some of England's first thoroughbreds, the collection contains notations in ms. of the pedigrees, performances, etc. of the various horses. The prints are arranged by size to minimize folding, with the scrapbooks ranging in size from 44 cm. to 74 cm. 10 larger prints, not contained in the scrapbooks are housed separately.
