This collection primarily contains memoirs written by Lionel Allen Sheldon about men he knew, specifically generals and politicians during the Civil War period. Some of these memoirs are part of his larger work, Reminiscence of Men and Events, which appear to be unpublished. There are a few pieces of correspondence and ephemera following the manuscripts.
