[Map of south Lancashire] to the nobility, clergy & gentry of Lancashire this map is respectfully dedicated by the proprietors. [London, 1838?]. 1 sheet. [see p.]."Was cataloged as two separate entries in the catalog of the Burton library, but is in fact two pieces of the same large map of Lancashire. The division seems to have been made prior to Burton acquiring the map, since each section is labeled on the verso.Dedication on lower sheet reads: "To the nobility, clergy & gentry of Lancashire, this map is respectfully dedicated by the Proprietors." View of Liverpool accompanied by printed notes "R. Creighton delt." and "Neele and Son sculpt." Numerous MS notes along the eastern border of the county. Ms notes on verso read: "Coal District of South Lancashire illustrated by James Heywood, F.G.S. 1838" and "North Lancashire James Heywood." Vignette: Liverpool Stamp: Kensington Public Libraries..
