The trial of the Honble Admiral Byng, at a court-martial held on board His Majesty's ship the St. George, in Portsmouth Harbour, Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1756, : for an enquiry into his conduct, while he commanded in the Mediterranean. Together with his defence; likewise an appendix, containing all the papers read in Court, and several others. Being much fuller, and more circumstantial, than the judge-advocate's minutes; because containing all the occasional speeches and reflections made by the members of the court, or the prisoner, on what was said, or passed; and each member's name prefixed to the questiones he proposed.
