The collection consists of 298 photographs, 1878-1951 (bulk 1890-1915), collected by Orrin Peck, portraitist and landscape painter, and his sister Janet. Primarily portraits, the photographs depict friends and acquaintances (both identified and unidentified) of Orrin and Janet Peck, with particular emphasis on Phoebe Apperson Hearst and William Randolph Hearst. Also included are California scenes, including numerous views of San Francisco; unidentified residential exteriors and interiors; views of Mrs. Hearst's home, La Hacienda del Pozo de Verona in Alameda County, California; and views of William Randolph Hearst's castle "Wyntoon" (designed by architect Julia Morgan) near Mount Shasta, California. Manuscripts
Collection consists mainly of correspondence from the period 1910-14, beginning when Oddie initiated his campaign for governor and ending when he was about to terminate his administration. The correspondence is arranged in 19 boxes in alphabetical order by author. There are also 6 boxes and 4 rolls of Nevada State papers, almost entirely copies of legislative bills for the year 1873, and a small number of documents from other years. Subjects include: mining, politics, and government in Nevada (including divorce laws), women's rights, the financial panic of 1907, the Progressive party, and the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915.

The Peabody Collection consists of 672 glass plate negatives in various sizes, 1054 film negatives in various sizes, 24 photograph albums, 887 loose photographs in a variety of formats, published works, and manuscript material, created and collected by Henry G. Peabody, 1859-1993 (bulk 1890s-1900s). The materials collectively describe Peabody's long career as a commercial landscape photographer working on both the east and west coasts of the United States. The photographs and negatives depict Peabody and his family; landscape views in New England, Canada, the western United States, California, and Mexico; Native Americans; city and landscape views in Great Britain, France, and Switzerland; portraits; architectural renderings; plants and animals; unidentified landscapes; and miscellaneous images. Additional photographers and photographic firms represented in the collection include Alexander Hesler, Charles F. Lummis, and Spence Air Photos. The published works contain photographs by Peabody. The manuscript material provides information about Peabody's negatives; contains catalogs of Peabody's works for sale; describes Peabody's commercial dealings as both a photographer and seller of photographic equipment; and contains ephemeral material collected by Peabody throughout his life.
