    This collection contains the papers of Gloria Molina, who was a Los Angeles County Supervisor of the First Supervisorial District from 1991 to 2014. This collection is mainly comprised of records created and accumulated during her years on the Board of Supervisors. These materials -- including correspondence, agenda, motions, reports, press clippings, notes, ephemera, site plans, photographs, audiovisual and electronic resources -- document a wide range of activities performed by Molina and her staff, such as project planning, legislation, lawsuits, redistricting, campaigning, and budget planning.

    The collection contains material from independent private presses and university presses from around the world, but the majority of the presses represented in the collection are from the United States. Types of materials include annoucements, correspondence, flyers, booklets, and catalogs. The collection also includes material from printing clubs including Grolier, William Morris Society, Moxon Chappel, Rounce and Coffin, Typophiles, and Zamorano.There are also catalogs and material relating to various type foundry companies such as Ludlow, Linotype, Bauer, and American Type Founders (ATF) as well as paper samples from Japan Paper Company, Linweave, and Worthy Paper Company.

    The collection contains letters, documents, including 190,000 reports, 1200 maps, 500 photographs, and 8200 pieces of printed material related to the life and career of Ralph Arnold. Subjects represented in the collection include: mining, petroleum, and seismology in the Western United States as well as Canada, Mexico, Cuba, and South America; political papers from 1914 to 1956, mostly concerning the campaign of Herbert Hoover for president; family and personal papers from 1836 to 1961 of Arnold and his father, Delos Arnold, containing source material on Pasadena and Southern California local history. The collection also contains Arnold's field books, including those made at Stanford University with the U.S. Geological Survey from 1900 to 1909.
