One painting book entitled The Mother Goose Parade, by Anita de Campi, published by The Reilly & Britton Co., Chicago, 1914. The subtitle on both the title page and the front cover reads: A Combination of Painting Book and Scissors Play for Children's Hand Made Nursery Borders. This activity book is comprised of black and white illustrations designed to be colored and cut out. Each drawing is accompanied by a Mother Goose rhyme; the images illustrate the rhymes. The front cover is a chromolithograph of a long parade of Mother Goose characters, led by a scissors-wielding Mother Goose. The back cover is not illustrated. On the verso of the title page is text which explains the use of this book: to color and cut out the images, and use them to decorate a child's room. "Copyright 1914- By The Reilly & Britton Co." is printed below this text. Each of the illustrations throughout the book are signed by Anita de Campi. Some of the images have been colored. "Clara Jackson, 90 Beacon St., Boston, Mass." is written in ms., in pencil, in the upper right-hand corner of the front flyleaf, under the printed text "This book belongs to".
