    The collection consists of maps, field books, legal documents, business papers, and diaries related to the work of surveyors George Hansen, Alfred Solano, Sidney B. Reeve, and others. The maps and surveys in the collection are of the city of Los Angeles, Southern California ranchos, and subdivisions of the city of Los Angeles and neighboring towns. The collection contains over maps and sketch maps. Other subjects represented in the collection include: civil engineering, land subdivision, mines and mineral resources, and daily life in Los Angeles and Los Angeles County.

    Farnsworth, H.D. - Forbes

    Manuscripts

    The collection consists of letters, documents, manuscript diaries, a few maps and photographs, and ephemera related to the life and military career of Charles Stewart Farnsworth and dates from 1820-1955. Subject matter includes military affairs and administration, chiefly during World War I, as seen in orders, bulletins, communications, and others; information about Montana, Alaska, and Farnsworth's other posts; the city of Altadena, California from 1927-1951; the Farnsworth family. Although there are various correspondents in the collection, the most prominent is his second wife, Helen Bosard Farnsworth, who is represented in the collection by 297 pieces, including both correspondence and diaries.
