    Materials related to Dana Gioia's work as a poet, essayist, and editor as well as his roles as Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and Poet Laureate of California. The Writings series is divided into Poetry, Other Writings, and Publications, and includes drafts, galleys, published versions, and reprints of Gioia's poems, essays, and other writings, as well as notes, correspondence, reviews, and other related documents. The Professional series includes materials related to Gioia's work with the NEA, including documentation of his NEA nomination and confirmation; his congressional testimony; reports; publicity; and working documents and correspondence related to NEA programs such as The Big Read, Poetry Out Loud, NEA Jazz Masters, and others. There is also correspondence, press coverage, a scrapbook, and other documentation of Gioia's tenure as California Poet Laureate; and materials related to his 2007 Stanford University commencement address, including drafts of the speech, responses, and reprints. The Correspondence series is comprised primarily of Gioia's letter and email correspondence with other poets, publishers, and scholars, and also includes some biographical and other material related to each correspondent. The Broadsides and posters series includes poetry broadsides authored by Dana Gioia and others, and a few posters related to Gioia's poetry.

    The collection contains letters, documents, manuscripts, photographs and ephemera related to the life and career of Los Angeles mayor and Superior Court judge Fletcher Bowron. It includes official correspondence kept during Bowron's term as mayor of Los Angeles, reports, and information on his election campaigns. There is also source material gathered for his Metropolitan Los Angeles History Project, particularly in the fields of public housing, city planning, and transportation. In the addenda there are 38 bound volumes containing addresses by Mayor Bowron from September 1938 to July 1953 as well as oversize awards, albums and maps.

    This collection contains the papers of Gloria Molina, who was a Los Angeles County Supervisor of the First Supervisorial District from 1991 to 2014. This collection is mainly comprised of records created and accumulated during her years on the Board of Supervisors. These materials -- including correspondence, agenda, motions, reports, press clippings, notes, ephemera, site plans, photographs, audiovisual and electronic resources -- document a wide range of activities performed by Molina and her staff, such as project planning, legislation, lawsuits, redistricting, campaigning, and budget planning.

    The collection consists of maps, field books, legal documents, business papers, and diaries related to the work of surveyors George Hansen, Alfred Solano, Sidney B. Reeve, and others. The maps and surveys in the collection are of the city of Los Angeles, Southern California ranchos, and subdivisions of the city of Los Angeles and neighboring towns. The collection contains over maps and sketch maps. Other subjects represented in the collection include: civil engineering, land subdivision, mines and mineral resources, and daily life in Los Angeles and Los Angeles County.
