The whole divided into two tomes, answerable to the subject matter, as it relates both to princes and people; and design'd as supplemental to the Book of martyrs, as well in the several ages antecedent to the Reformation, where that is found defective; as by continuing the same most useful part of Ecclesiastical history, a martyrology, down to these present times
