One book entitled Home Sphere of Child Life, published by Lewis E. Myers & Company, Chautauqua Park, Valparaiso, Indiana, 1913. The cover title is "Child Life". This 96-page instructional book was designed for use in the home with the Chautauqua Combination Drawing Board and Writing Desk. It was meant to "promote the culture of work and play among children in the home", and is comprised of art projects in a wide variety of mediums as well as activities and stories, all of which are illustrated. Some of the activities include drawing, clay modeling, paper cutting, stenciling and weaving; many of the activities are seasonal. The lower half of the title page outlines the contents of the book; Part One contains the "Child Activities in Art and Industry" and Part Two is "Stories of Great Industries: The Story of King Cotton; The Story of Prince Wool; and The Story of Queen Silk." This book is bound in a red paper cover and is illustrated with an image of a seated mother reading to her two children-- one of whom is standing with a book, the other is sitting at a Chautauqua drawing desk. The insides of the front and back covers, as well as the back cover, are blank.
