    The collection contains letters, documents, maps and reports related to the professional activities of mining engineer Harley A. Sill. There are reports on ores and mines and technical data, chiefly from California, Arizona, Nevada, Canada and Mexico. There are also some reports on mines in other parts of the United States and in South and Central America. There is also one small box containing bibliographical references related to mines and metallurgy (Box 15).

    The Charles Francis Saunders and Mira Culin Saunders Collection of Photographs and Negatives consists of 5826 black and white photographs, 68 glass plate negatives, 3832 film negatives, 10 photographs albums, 261 lantern slides, and related ephemera, ca. 1871-1965 (bulk 1910s-1920s), collected and created by Charles Francis Saunders, Elisabeth Hallowell Saunders, and Mira Culin Saunders. The collection provides a comprehensive overview of Charles Saunders' activities as a naturalist and travel writer.

    The B.D. Jackson Collection of Negatives and Photographs consists of 804 4 x 5 in. and 8 x 10 in. glass plate negatives, 1782 film negatives (including stereo negatives), 2302 black and white photographs (including stereos, postcards, and photograph albums), and related manuscript and ephemeral materials, 1903-1950s (bulk 1920s-1930s), that provide a visual history of the growth of many of the San Gabriel Valley's suburban communities, a survey of many of California's (and the western United States') notable landscapes, and an overview of Jackson's career as a landscape and scenic view photographer.
