The collection includes materials relating to Blodgetts's career including legal papers, copies of bills for the Illinois legislature, and correspondence. There are several items that were purportedly housed in a safe and survived the Chicago Fire of 1871. Correspondents include the abolitionists Owen Lovejoy and Wendell Phillips.
