  The Huntington Library's Collection of Panoramic Photographs, 1851 to 2014, depicts a wide variety of subjects and provides an important resource for the visual history of the United States, with a particular emphasis on California and the American West. Subjects include landscapes, group portraits, and miscellaneous views.   Maynard L. Parker negatives, photographs, and other material consists of 57,893 black-and-white negatives, color transparencies, black-and-white prints, and color prints; 39 presentation albums; and 17 boxes of office records, 1930-1974. Created primarily by Maynard Parker, the archive documents the residential and non-residential work of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, artists, builders, real estate developers, and clients associated with these fields, foremost among them the magazine House Beautiful. Also included in the collection are photographs taken by other individuals, such as architect Cliff May and Parker's assistant, Charles Yerkes.

  The Eugene Swarzwald Pictorial California and the Pacific Collection consists of 9,674 black and white photographs, negatives, a photograph album, magazine mock-ups, letters, and ephemera, dated 1909-ca. 1968. Eugene Swarzwald and the Swarzwald family collected the material for use in the magazine "Pictorial California and the Pacific." Images depict California and the West with some coverage of the rest of the United States and international destinations. The collection contains photographs depicting general city views of communities in California, scenic views of wilderness areas, images of parks, schools and universities, museums, and points of historic interest (including California mining towns and missions). The collection is strong in subjects related to leisure and social and recreational activities. Many of the photographs are by the Keystone Photo Service.   Collection of photographs taken mainly between December 1890 and September 1891 by naturalist Theodore S. Palmer and fellow United States Department of Agriculture scientists, collecting flora and fauna in California. Areas covered include the Antelope, Owens, and San Joaquin valleys and Death Valley. The Death Valley photographs are by Palmer, San Francisco chronicle reporter William C. Burnett, and New York correspondent John R. Spears (the latter, on a second expedition in December 1891).
