Manuscripts
The collection, which is made up of approximately 1,110 items, consists of manuscripts and correspondence related to the life and writings of Norreys Jephson O'Conor. The letters are addressed to O'Conor from a number of literary figures, most of them dating from O'Conor's stay in California between 1940 and 1958. There are a sizable number of carbon copies of O'Conor's letters, thus forming in many cases a complete correspondence. The manuscripts are mostly by O'Conor, including notes, autograph and typewritten copies of many of his poems and essays. Correspondents in the collection include: Conrad Potter Aiken, William Rose Benet, Elizabeth Bowen, Van Wyck Brooks, Arthur Bryant, Pearl S. Buck, Charles Bruce Catton, T.S. Eliot, John Gould Fletch, Maxwell Struthers Burt, Robert Frost, Oliver St. John Gogarty, Walter Lippmann, Christopher Morley, John Hall Wheelock, Howard Moss, Rolfe Humphries, Robert Linscott, Compton Mackenzie, Kenneth Roberts, Garrett Mattingly, Samuel Eliot Morison, Howard Nemerov, Allan Nevins, Robert Malise Bowyer Nichols, Victoria Mary Sackville-West, Emily Hilda Young. There are also some watercolors done by O'Conor.

The collection consists of letters, manuscripts (including 25 diaries and notebooks), documents (including 5 account books), photographs, and 9 scrapbooks related to the life and activities of Marshall Stimson. The collection includes radio addresses of Marshall Stimson and the manuscript of his published autobiography titled Fun, fights, and fiesta in old Los Angeles. There are materials related to California and national politics, including Hiram Johnson and the Progressive Party "Bull Moose" Convention of 1912. There are also materials related to Homer Lea, the League of Nations, and World War II. The collection also contains the diaries of Mary Gordon Stimson, wife of Marshall Stimson.

Manuscripts
The papers of Dr. Lodewyk Bendikson span his career at the Huntington Library and the period shortly thereafter, chronicling the experimental work he did in imaging as well as the day-to-day work of the photographic department of the Huntington. The collection is divided into the following series: Correspondence (Boxes 1-3), Articles (Box 3), and Photographs (Boxes 4-12). All material is arranged chronologically wherever possible. The Correspondence series contains letters mostly to and from Bendikson arranged by year, but other relevant departmental correspondence is present as well (including letters to and from Erwin Morkisch and other staffers). The bulk of the series concerns departmental business, including purchase orders and requests for imaging, photostats, and microfilm, while the rest primarily deals with his experimental work.
