A color lithograph with hand-colored details depicting a view of the Central Pacific Railroad crossing the Humboldt River in Nevada. The central image is of a steam locomotive with cargo labeled "Central Pacific R.R. Baggage" crossing a bridge onto wooden tracks. Illustrated to the left of the foreground is a town with a public school, a church building, and nearby villagers, miners, and railroad workers waving their hands and hats at the approaching train. Depicted to the right of the foreground are indigenous people on horseback, women carrying infants, and conical tents. Background includes green pastures and white mountains.
