Railroad men : a book of photographs and collected stories
Rare Books
"Simpson Kalisher took his camera, his tape recorder, and a freight-car-load of idealism down to the railroad yards to hunt for a book. He came back with a stunning series of photographs, a number of yarns about railroading told in the vernacular, and an experience of the reality of the life of railroad men which destroyed some illusions and gave him a measure of understanding. 44 photographs in duotone, 24 yarns, the apologia of the author, and an introduction by Jonathan Williams"--Jacket.
