The John Janney collection contains correspondence and business records related to mining in the early 20th century American West. Included are files related to John Janney's several properties and interests, most of which were in Lincoln County, Nevada, including the Ely Valley Mines, Mountain View Hotel, Pioche Mines Company, Pioche Power and Light Company, and Tenabo Mining and Smelting Company. This collection exists as an extensive and rich documentation of Nevada mining, especially during the Great Depression and World War II.

This Title Insurance and Trust Company volume contains a chronology of important events and policy decisions covering the 1940s and 1950s. Subjects that appear in this volume are: a) the date and amount per share of the declaration of each dividend, b) the dates and amounts of all changes in prices, c) the date of basic changes in company structure brought by acquisition of other companies, mergers, etc., d) date of stock split, e) date and nature of profit sharing installation, f) a record of bonuses paid each year, g) the general price range of Title Insurance stock at all dates where major changes occurred or at year end if no major changes occurred immediately, and h) trend of the general real estate business in Los Angeles. At the back of the volume, there are more miscellaneous charts and graphs pertaining to the Title Insurance and Trust Company, including business potential, schedule of division, and statistical data.
