    Mrs. L.E. Jewett letters to her son

    Manuscripts

    These typescripts from Mrs. L.E. Jewett [Grace S. (Kenville) Jewett] to her son [Homer Lee Jewett] relate to her travels from March 31-August 24, 1912. The first letter begins on March 31, 1912 on the steamer Ivernia. During her trip, she visits Morocco, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, England, and Canada. Laid in the typescripts are photographs, postcards, and various clippings. There are also two newspaper clippings depicting the ruins of Cologne, Germany in 1945. Note: These typescripts were originally bound in two suede volumes, which have been discarded. Volume 1 is now in folders 1-7 and volume 2 is now in folders 8-11.
