Manuscripts
This collection contains 40 items (17 manuscripts, 4 letters, and 19 pieces of ephemera) by or related to Ellen Steele Sturges (1837-1930) of Michigan, Montana, and San Bernardino, California, and her family. Items chiefly consist of manuscripts of short stories written by Sturges, as well as two hymns. There is also a short 1-page autobiography by her father, Ebenezer Steele, and a small collection of genealogical and biographical notes detailing Ellen Steele Sturges's family and David Brainerd Sturges's life. One letter in the collection is a rejection notice from S.S. McClure Limited and includes an edited copy of "The Little Somnambulist." An 1852 letter contains a report by Ebenezer Steele regarding his missionary work in 1852 with an Ojibwa tribe in Michigan at "Na-yuh-mah-kauny" (or Naomikong). There is also a short note from Ellen's stepmother, Phebe Steele, recounting Ebenezer Steele's recollections of "Training Day" in Massachusetts. The ephemera includes Ellen Steele Sturges's nursing certificate, a Montana homestead certificate from 1877 to David Sturges, and a Confederate States bond issued by the Central Business College of Sedalia, Missouri, from 1864. There is also an obituary for Ellen Steele Sturges, a photograph of David Brainerd Sturges, two photographic postcards of their house in San Bernardino, California, and a view of buildings in Virginia City, Montana, by photographer O.C. Bundy, circa 1875.

The Greene and Greene Collection contains a wide variety of materials, from Greene and Greene ancestor, architect/engineer James Sumner's "Memo of the Timber wanted for the Steeple in Providence," dated 1775, and a diary of a European grand tour from 1829 to 1931 by an English ancestor of Charles Greene's wife, Alice, to drawings and photographs of Greene and Greene works from the time of construction through the close of the 20th century. The bulk of the collection dates from 1889 to 1975. Photographs comprise most of the records documenting their architecture. There is a small number of architectural drawings; most of the firm's drawings are housed at the Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library at Columbia University, New York City, with a smaller collection of drawings from the estate of Charles Greene at the Environmental Design Archives, University of California, Berkeley. The collection is organized into four series: I. Personal papers, II. Office records, III. Job (project) records (including furniture), and IV. Related research materials. In general, the papers and records of both brothers have been kept together for the periods in which they were living together as students and young men, and for the period when they were partners in the firm of Greene and Greene. Within each series, the organization follows the separate lives and works of each brother from the dates at which they diverge. Although the collection has been assembled from many different sources, most items have a unique accession number identifying the donor, so that the researcher can easily identify the source of most documents.

Manuscripts
The collection consists of correspondence, essays, bibliographical notes, bound volumes, and ephemera either pertaining to or collected by Joseph C. Loughran. The majority of the items relate to Utah history from the 1860s to the 1940s and focus on Weber County, particularly the Ogden area. Items of note include genealogy records for the Fuller, Jacobs-Huntington, Hansen, and Young families; extensive bibliographical records related to Mormon history; a book of poetry and essays by Reba B. Pratt (1880); a book of annotated newspaper clippings by Mormon dissenter Lamoni Call; shopkeeper's day books and account books kept in Ogden from the 1860s-1880s and which feature entries for Lorin Farr, Edwin Smout, George Lake, Seth M. Blair, R.D. Sprague, H.B. Scovill, and others; a wage and account book for Ogden gravedigger Joseph Compton (1880-1883); a record of temple work in Ogden (c.1921-1922); record books of the Primary Association of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11th Ward, Logan Stake, Utah (1931-1934); and a record book from the Ancient Order of United Workmen, Hall Fidelity Lodge No.3 of Ogden (1894-1900).
