Visual Materials
One drawing/tracing book entitled High Art for Little People, published by D. Lothrop & Company, Boston, 1882. The cover image, surrounded by a floral border, is a cherub-like child sitting on a tree branch painting while four birds watch. The image of cats on the back cover, entitled "A Mother's Lullaby," is reproduced from the magazine Babyland, also published by D. Lothrop & Company. There are 31 images in the book--12 are slate pictures for children to copy, 15 are outlined images that the child could fill in, the remainder are comical drawings. Some of the images have been filled in using watercolors. All of the images have titles and depict scenes from the farm or anthropomorphic animals. On the inside cover, in pen, is the inscription "Bertie Woodworth/ From Aunt Fannie/ Christmas 1882" and under "Christmas" is the name "Albert" in a child's handwriting.
