Consists of three photographs. One copy print is an EHM photo of the front end of an American Airlines - DC 2 at Palm Springs prior to the establishment of the Palm Springs Airport. Two are identical copy print portraits of Alexander W. Ross. Both prints are also signed and dated 1982.

A brief history of T.S.C. Lowe from his study of meteorology to his position of chief of the Aeronautic Department during the U.S. Civil War and his invaluable service during the war using hot-air balloons for reconnaissance purposes. Included in this account is a mention of his later projects including a commercial hot-air balloon business, ice making and cold storage inventions, the water-gas process and finally the construction of the Mount Lowe Railway.
