The collection consists of official copies of plays submitted for licensing between 1737 and 1824. Most of copies were written by professional copyists. Manuscripts
The Prologue and Epilogue are two separate manuscripts, in different hands, still attached after removal from volume. A Prologue begins: "Tis not five yeares since this was a Sweete Place..." (2 p.); the Epilogue begins: "Our theatre alas is quite undone..." (2 p.). The manuscripts were removed from Bridgewater pamphlet volume 2/G 16 (HEH 133562-90) which was broken up for the removal of duplicates.
