A collection which consists of approximately 200 letters and manuscripts related to Jeanne C. Smith Carr and Ezra S. Carr and their interests; subjects include botany, agriculture, and education. There are materials related to the history and description of California (especially early Pasadena), botany, and gardening, the University of California and the University of Wisconsin. Persons represented in the collection include: Asa Gray, Helen Hunt Jackson, John Gill Lemmon, Mary Ashton Rice Livermore, Helena Modjeska, Charles Warren Stoddard, Fujimaro Tanaka, and Marshall Pinckney Wilder. The collection also includes one envelope of ephemera, a volume entitled "Eminent Persons," and two scrapbooks.

The collection consists of letters, manuscripts, documents and maps related to the life and business affairs of Benjamin D. Wilson. Subject matter includes business and social life in California (1850-90), Indian affairs in Southern California (1852-56), the wine industry, the Santa Fe trade, the estate settlement of Solomon Sublette, and the early history of Pasadena, San Marino, and Wilmington, California. There is also a great deal of personal correspondence from Wilson's wife Margaret S. Hereford Hereford Wilson, his daughters Maria de Jesus Wilson Shorb, Ruth Wilson Patton, and Annie Wilson, his son John B. Wilson, Ruth's husband George S. Patton, Sr., and many of Margaret's Hereford relatives. Also included are diaries kept by Margaret, Ruth, and Annie Wilson. Other individuals represented in the collection include Phineas Banning, Edward Fitzgerald Beale, Joseph Lancaster Brent, Cave Johnson Couts, Stephen Clark Foster, John Charles Fŕemont, John S. Griffin, William McKendree Gwin, Benjamin Hayes, Henry Edwards Huntington, George S. Patton, Jr., and Jonathan Trumbull Warner.

This collection consists of an autograph album containing handwritten notes, letters, poems, and drawings by approximately 200 friends and acquaintances of American author Charles Warren Stoddard, including leading American literary figures, journalists, poets, critics, politicians, and actors of the late 19th century. Among the many notable contributors are Samuel Clemens, Bret Harte, and Joaquin Miller. The earliest item in the book is an 1863 dedication by Thomas Starr King, and continues with contributions primarily from members of San Francisco literary society beginning in the mid-to-late 1860s through the late 1890s, as well as from friends in other locales where Stoddard lived or traveled including Louisville, Kentucky; Washington, D.C.; Massachusetts; New York; and Hawaii. A letter from L.C. Bayles (page 23) introduces lines of verse with the note "in accordance with your request," reflecting Stoddard's curation of the album as a compendium of verse and personal sentiments tailored towards friendships and literary musings. The volume includes two photographs of groups of men and women, captioned, "Riverdale, N.Y., July 4th 1890" (page 116). This letter was written to Royal Engineer Major S. A. Carr. In the letter Marconi is talking about some experiments with wireless telegraph he has been conducting. He also states that he hopes to create a "compact form" of his invention "to be applied on board...ships." The letter was written in London; the envelope is with the letter.
