Die Mercurii, 6. Septemb. 1643. : It is this day ordered by the Commons House of Parliament, that the Deputy-Lieutenants and committees of Parliament, in any county of this kingdom, or any five or more of them, shall have power to take the examinations of all vvitnesses against any ministers that are scandalous, either in life or doctrine, or any others that have deserted their cures, and joyned themselves actually with, and are assistant unto the forces raised against the Parliament
