L'Envoi Kipling's writings are said not to be favored of the ladies; in his preface to the "Outward Bound" edition of his works he write of it as a loaded ship going to a strange land, and in it says that the men "will not bring their womanfolk abroad" to view the cargo. The facsimile manuscript on the next page is interesting in this connection
