- Description
- The first 27 maps present the ancient geography of Ptolemy; beginning with "Oceani occidentalis seu terrae novae tabula," the world as seen in the 16th century. The ancient maps are followed by supplemental notes by Servetus. In his note following the map for the Oceanus occidentalis, he complains that America was named for Amerigo Vespucci rather than Columbus. There are also notes on Middle Eastern and Asian history.
