Desert Collections
The Desert Garden is among the oldest living collections at The Huntington. Iconic plants from arid regions of the world include representatives from the Americas (notably Golden Barrel Cacti, agaves, and puyas) as well as the dazzling diversity of succulents from Africa (including aloes, euphorbias, and pachypodiums). Smaller succulents and those that have special climate requirements are currently on display in the Desert Conservatory. This page showcases images of iconic specimens from The Huntington’s Desert Collections. These examples reflect the diversity of succulents from the many different plant families found in arid environments around the world.
