Groves and Woods | Commercial Filming and Photography: Locations

When Henry E. Huntington bought this property in 1903, it was a working ranch. Today, the remaining orange orchard stretches from the Mausoleum east to the parking lot; it is one of the few orange orchards* in the thirty-mile zone.

The Huntington covers 207 acres, with gardens and galleries on about 120 of them. There are still some undeveloped woods and dirt roads inside the property. The availability and appearance of backwoods areas change frequently, but a few representative spots are shown here.

*And yes, we allowed a commercial to replace all the oranges on one tree with apples to create an “apple orchard.” (And yes, we know that apple trees don’t look like orange trees.)
