The integral parts of a novelist’s art are representational of real life, yet the bulk of the writer’s literary life is consumed by the notion of creating an abstract novel. What would such a thing look like? How can an author tell if he has gotten close? Everett will discuss the most important part of this aim, which is defining just what he thinks he means when he says abstraction.
This event is part of The Thirsty Scholar, a series that brings together our community of the curious for a glass, a chat, and a lecture. Come learn with us!
This is the Ridge Lecture.
