In this after-hours dinner series, participants will join Maite Gomez-Rejón of ArtBites for intimate conversations in the gallery that explore the role of food through historical and social lenses. After the conversation, participants will enjoy a seated four-course dinner prepared by Huntington chef Jeff Thurston, who will craft a meal inspired by The Huntington’s rare cookbook collection, the gardens, and the evening’s theme.
Through the special exhibition “the eight directions of the wind: Edmund de Waal at The Huntington," Gomez-Rejón will trace porcelain’s journey from China to Europe and the Carolinas. Participants will consider what defines luxury, what stories objects carry, and how meaning shifts as those stories are told and retold.
