Gardens
Learn how the beloved camellia arrived in our region, why Southern California and Japanese immigrants are key in its history, and why powerful people here and across the Atlantic were devoted to collecting camellias in the 18th and 19th centuries. Led by Wendy Cheng, Huntington fellow and professor of American Studies and Ethnicity at USC, the walk will take place in the Camellia Garden. Participants will continue along the camellia path, spanning the Japanese and Chinese Gardens, if time permits.
