THIS LAND IS..., Kids/Families
Education and Visitor Center, Melanie’s Classroom
Inspired by Letitia Huckaby’s works on view at the Virginia Steele Scott Galleries of American Art, the class will guide participants in creating one-of-a-kind silhouette paintings that combine block-printed patterns and traced shadows. Participants will learn to design and create repeating patterns using simple block-printing techniques that will serve as the backdrop for a silhouette of themselves or a friend, family member, object, or plant made using shadow tracing and paint.
