Family Program: Ballet des Porcelaines

Kids and families are invited to this special performance featuring dancers from the Oakland Ballet Company. The dancers will demonstrate the basics of ballet and perform Ballet des Porcelaines, a 20-minute contemporary adaptation of an 18th-century ballet that tells the story of a prince and princess escaping the clutches of a man obsessed with porcelain. The reimagined adaptation was created in collaboration with art historian Meredith Martin and an all-Asian American creative team, including choreographer Phil Chan.
