Enjoy a guided tour of the Kitchen Garden en Français!
In addition to exploring the bounty of summer annual fruits and vegetables, you’ll learn about the synergy of companion plantings, where different plants are cultivated together to benefit one another. Find out how apple cultivars are grafted together to produce trees which bear multiple types of apples and learn the advantages of espalier—a special pruning technique. As a bonus, you'll visit the James P. Folsom Experimental Ranch Garden for an opportunity to delve into the ways that our Southern California climate and ecosystems shape agriculture in our region.

- This tour is in French.
- Check in with staff just past the Admission windows. The tour will leave promptly at 11 a.m.
- This class takes place in the Kitchen Garden and Ranch Garden which are about a 15-minute walk from the front entrance on paved and unpaved paths. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
