Huntington Art Gallery and Virginia Steele Scott Galleries of American Art
Participants will learn various drawing techniques from Nova Community Arts, as well as artists Richard E. Scott and Robert Sherrill in the galleries. Sessions and instructors will rotate between the Huntington Art Gallery and Virginia Steele Scott Galleries of American Art.
Nova Community Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art studio in Los Angeles dedicated to serving underfunded populations in Los Angeles and providing inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities by offering art classes, workshops, open studio access, and guest programming.
Scott is an artist and author who has taught at numerous Southern California institutions and at art workshops throughout the United States and Europe for 25 years. He has also written for various art and design magazines, and in 2013 published a compendium on drawing titled Sketching – from Square One to Trafalgar Square.
Sherrill is a Southern California teacher and artist who portrays the majestic beauty of the natural world around him. Whether it’s watercolor or oil, he captures the effects of light, shape, and color in his exhilarating paintings.
