Artist and educator Michelle Ohm will lead a special after-hours art lesson inspired by the temporary exhibition, “Don Bachardy: A Life in Portraits.” Ohm will guide participants through various drawing techniques to interpret objects on display in The Huntington’s MaryLou and George Boone Gallery.

- The program will include sitting and standing in a gallery space for the duration of the program. Gallery stools will be provided.

About the Instructor
Michelle Ohm is a contemporary artist and educator based in Long Beach, California. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Painting from the College of Creative Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2005, and her Master of Fine Arts in Fine Arts from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles in 2008.
Ohm’s artistic practice centers on the representation of women in film and television, exploring themes of femininity, identity, and narrative through photo-realistic drawings and paintings. In addition to her artistic endeavors, Ohm is a dedicated educator. She currently teaches at various institutions, including Woodbury University, Santa Ana College, El Camino College, Golden West College, Long Beach City College, and Citrus College. Ohm has exhibited her work in numerous solo and group shows across Los Angeles, including venues such as Samuel Freeman Gallery, Lora Schlesinger Gallery, and the Forest Lawn Museum. She shares her studio and life with her husband, artist Matthew Ohm, and their two dogs, Melon and Forest.
