Creative Workshop: Miniature Dioramas

Join Rachel Curry for this fun and creative intergenerational workshop! Combine found objects with mixed media art techniques to make a unique and personal artwork. Participants will explore materials and composition through assembling and embellishing dioramas. Betye Saar: Drifting Toward Twilight is on view in the Virginnia Steele Scoot Galleries of American Art through November 30, 2025.
Key Details:
- This intergenerational class is suitable for adults and children 8+. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
- All supplies and materials will be provided; however, participants are encouraged to bring small items to incorporate into the work.
- Registration includes free admission to The Huntington after class.

About the Instructor
Rachel Curry is a teaching artist, letterpress printer, bookbinder, zinester, and fiber artist from Los Angeles. She received her B.A. in art education with an emphasis in fiber arts from California State University, Long Beach, and has taught at such institutions as Otis College of Art and Design, The Huntington, Meta Open Arts, and Craft Contemporary, as well as high schools and community organizations across Southern California. Her practice as an artist and an educator is rooted in the belief that art is for everyone and that it is possible to build a better world through creative expression.
