Creative Workshop: Flower Power

Sun., June 1, 2025, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
Members: $40, Public: $50, Teens: $20
Education and Visitor Center, Roger's Classroom
Flowers have a rich history as coded symbols in the LGBTQ+ community. Blooms such as green carnations, pansies, violets, and lavender have become symbols of queer identity and love, especially during times of persecution and discrimination. Inspired by this history and The Huntington’s Gardens, participants will cut, sew, and glue their own unique fabric flower brooches. Whether you are a member of the LGBTQ community, an ally, or a craft enthusiast, we invite you to join teaching artist Rachel Curry in celebrating Pride Month with this special art workshop.
