Join Daniel Deephouse, assistant curator of the bonsai collection at The Huntington, for an immersive bonsai workshop to learn the art of cultivating boxwood bonsai.
Classes and Workshops
Participants will work on fifty-year-old trees collected from The Huntington’s Rose Garden in this special class. Learn to shape, prune, and refine this classic evergreen species known for its dense foliage and compact form, connect with fellow bonsai enthusiasts, and leave with a miniature tree.

- Registration includes free admission to The Huntington.
- Suitable for all levels; no previous experience is necessary.
- This class is open to participants aged 18 and older.
- All supplies and materials are included.
- The workshop will be held outdoors, so please dress comfortably.
- Shuttle service will be available. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow for transit time.
- Please bring registration confirmation with you.
- Check in with Education staff at Admission window #10 at 9:30 a.m.

- Tickets are not sold at the door for this event.
- To join the waitlist for this event, please email publicprograms@huntington.org. A space is not guaranteed, but you will be contacted if a space becomes available.
- To receive a refund or request a reservation change, you must contact publicprograms@huntington.org at least 5 days prior to the event date. Cancellations made within 5 days of the event date will not be refunded, and reservation changes are not guaranteed. Tickets are nontransferable and cannot be exchanged for vouchers or future credit.
- Members may receive a discount for up to two tickets when applicable.
