Sabina Zonno

Sabina Zonno is Assistant Curator, Special Projects, European Art, at The Huntington. She received her PhD in Art History from the University of Padua, Italy. A specialist in medieval and early modern European art with an interest in contemporary art, her research focuses on gender studies, with particular attention to women as patrons, viewers, and active participants in artistic production and reception. Before transitioning to museum work, she held academic appointments in Italy and the United States and taught at the University of Southern California, California Lutheran University, and the University of Padua. Her research has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, the American Philosophical Society, and the International Center of Medieval Art. She joined The Huntington as the Samuel H. Kress Interpretive Fellow in 2020 and became a member of the museum's curatorial department in 2021. She contributes to the research, interpretation, and development of the European art collections and has curated In Our Time: Prints by R.B. Kitaj (2023–2024), as well as permanent collection installations in the Huntington Art Gallery. She is currently curating “David Hockney: The Four Seasons,” which will open at The Huntington in April 2027.
