An image of a 1598 Spanish handwritten manuscript recording Catalina Enríquez’s petition for her dowry in Seville. Catalina’s dowry included ten sheets, four of olanda (a fine linen) and six of a more homely linen, two fruit bowls, six damask tablecloths, four gilded guadamecís (paintings or drawings on leather), a few copper cooking vessels, a tetera morisca, or “Moorish teapot,” small household and trousseau items, and an enslaved woman named Esperanza.
