Society of Fellows

The Society of Fellows is The Huntington's premier group of philanthropic supporters. Members gain the opportunity to be a part of a close-knit community, enrichment through life-long learning, all while providing the unrestricted annual giving critical to The Huntington's intellectual and educational activities.

Levels of Participation

To recognize their dedication and vital support, Society of Fellows receive exclusive privileges and opportunities to engage with curators of the library, art, and botanical collections. Gifts made through the Society of Fellows are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Fellows ($2,500 - $4,999)

    • Free daily admission for Fellows and up to six accompanying guests (Fellow must be present with guests)
    • One-year Sustaining Gift Membership
    • Invitations to Society of Fellows events, including exhibition previews
    • Opportunity for small, guided garden tours for family or guests (by reservation, with 10-day advance notice)
    • Early admission to the Gardens Wed-Mon. (8 a.m.)
    • Opportunities to participate in domestic and international Huntington travel programs with curators and senior staff
    • Discounts of 10% on gift memberships at any level, 20% on merchandise purchased in the Huntington Store, 10% on food and beverages (excluding alcohol) at Red Car coffee shop, 1919 café, Rose Garden Tea Room, Freshwater Dumpling & Noodle House, and Patio Grill (excluding special events)
    • Early admission to the Children’s Garden (9 a.m. Fri. & Sat., reservation required)
    • Advance notice of Huntington Explorers’ Summer Day Camp and youth & family programming
    • Subscription to the Huntington e-newsletter, print Calendar, and Society of Fellows newsletter
    • Annual recognition in the annual report, Society of Fellows donor wall, and roster

President's Circle ($5,000 - $9,999)

All of the above, plus:

  • Private tour for up to four guests of the library, gardens, or galleries with a director or curator (by appointment only)
  • Invitations to exclusive events, including: Treasures of The Huntington, a curator-led evening highlighting objects from the collections President’s Holiday Open House, and more…
  • Advance notice of Huntington travel programs

Huntington Circle ($10,000 - $24,999)

All of the above, plus:

  • Special invitations to:
  • Huntington Circle Dinners with the President;
  • Huntington Circle Salons, intimate scholar-led dinner discussions in private homes
  • Exclusive invitations to dine with visiting historians, scholars, and authors. Guests have included Justice Stephen Breyer, Cokie Roberts, Simon Winchester, Hilary Mantel, and Paul Theroux.
  • Private tour (with up to six guests) of an exhibition of your choice led by the curator
  • First notice of Huntington travel programs

In addition to the exclusive privileges above, Society of Fellows members also enjoy enriching event programming:

  • 3Tu (3rd Tuesdays) - Monthly series every third Tuesday featuring unique, behind-the-scenes tours followed by an intimate reception. Upcoming
  • Date Nights - Four-part Friday night summer series featuring a new theme each year; wine bar, buffet dinner overlooking the gardens, and scholarly stimulation await!
  • Fellows Plant Sale Previews - Fellows enjoy first pick of the colorful blooms and specialty items at the sale plus wine and light bites.
  • Food for Thought - Lunchtime classroom lecture series featuring visiting scholars.
  • Huntington Ball - Annual black-tie gala featuring fine dining and dancing in the gardens.
  • Huntington Circle Salons - Intimate scholar-led dinner discussions in private homes.
  • Seasonal Seminars - Series of three seminars during the academic year, each featuring a lecture by one of The Huntington’s most prestigious visiting scholars. Wine reception and/or dinner at each event.
  • Scholarly Sustenance - Summertime series featuring visiting scholars, hosted by Society of Fellows members in private homes.
