With the current water year shaping up to be among the driest on record, reservoirs at all-time lows, and water users are facing restrictions, Kathy Musial, curator of living collections at The Huntington, provides insight about where our water comes from, who uses it and how, and appropriate plant selection and good watering practices for home gardens. Learn why our landscapes are important not only for providing beauty and enjoyment, but for ecological services such as ameliorating the urban heat island effect, absorbing dust and pollution, and capturing carbon from the atmosphere.
