Viewing Stones Shows
10 a.m.–5 p.m.
The California Aiseki Kai presents its 30th annual show featuring outstanding examples of suiseki and other viewing stones. Practiced in Asia for centuries and gaining popularity around the world, the art of viewing stones invites contemplation of the subtle, often fanciful forms that have been shaped by nature, the elements, and time. In addition, the American Viewing Stone Resource Center presents a complementary display, "From Tiger Stripes to Mindless Cloud: Celebrating 50 Years of Stone Appreciation at The Huntington.” For the first time, the shows include hands-on activities to introduce children of all ages to the appreciation and display of natural stones.
